Arriving on the UK DJ Scene from Madagascar in the late 90’s Manrouf Chanfi aka ‘The Metisse Sessions’ quickly gained notoriety for his superior collection of international music gaining him a place DJ’ing at prestigious festivals such as Womad and Glastonbury.
This World music DJ spins global mixes of music ranging between anything from Afro-Beat, Funk, R’n’B, Roots, Reggae, Bongo Flava, Kwaito grooves, Reggaeton, Balkan Beat, Salsa, Cumbia groove and anything else he’s particularly in the mood for. Perfect for club nights, festivals and spinning his African wedding DJ set.

In January 2014, Metisse founded a small charity project named IAMU – International Arts Musically United which aims to use World Music events to raise funds for education in some less fortunate schools around the world.  A primary school in Dakar, Senegal was chosen as our first beneficiary - École Élémentaire Parcelles Assainies.
With support from the British Council and Comic Relief, IAMU’s main target is to help build an Information Communication Technology room (ICT) as well as building cultural bridges between primary schools in the UK and abroad. As a short-term target, IAMU will aim at helping École Élémentaire Parcelles Assainies to improve its sanitation, i.e. raising funds towards its school toilets.
Since 2014, The Métisse Sessions has become a weekly Saturday world music show, on Passion FM, Bristol. The show is also a platform for local (and beyond) artists/musicians to share and promote their creativity through interviews and live sessions.
